How did the arts and crafts movement help modern day artists?
Q. I have a project on the arts and crafts movement and I can't answer that question - I have written that artists can learn a lot by studying earlier movements but thats it..

A. It helped modern day artists because it merged arts and crafts. An art and a craft art two very separate things. A piece of art is something that is created for the sole purpose of being viewed and contemplated. A craft is something that is created with a basis in function. Being separate, art is to be seen/thought and craft is to be used. The arts and crafts movement infused the two. Crafts can now be about function and concept...as art can be about concept and function. I could make this a lot longer...if you would like to know more...just contact me.
